Romex 14 2 wire is the most popular type of Romex® and ultimately the reason for the creation of Romex® Wire by Southwire, the largest copper manufacturer in the USA. Romex® 14/2 is used throughout homes and buildings to run power to the lights and appliances.

Any 14 awg wire in the Romex® family comes in grey to distinguish between the 12 awg (yellow) and 10 awg (orange) Romex® cables. This allows electrical contractors to immediately see the awg size of the electrical wire throughout your home.

At WesBell Electronics all of our Romex® comes with an additional ground wire as seen in the picture below. It's a solid bare copper ground wire which only has a thin jacket for protection. This is the reason Romex® cannot be used outdoors or in conduit due to water, oils and solvents.
